Books, Juice & TV!

Heres A Bunch Of Randomness In A Blog! [Thoughts Just Kept Running Through My Head Of Things To Say!]

A friend of mine e-mailed me the other day recommending a book to me. It is a book called Naturally Thin by Bethenny Frankel, some of you may know her from the show, The Real Housewives Of New York City. I have known that she wrote a book, but never took any interest in it. I will definitely be purchasing this book on my next Amazon order :)

The other day, I was watching the show The Doctors. There was a guest on there by the name of Joe Cross. What he did fascinated me. He went on a fasting diet on JUICE! Yep, JUICE! Of course not the sugary naturally flavored junk. He would take all fresh veggies/fruit and juice them in a juicer and drink it! Now I'm not absolutely for sure on all of this, but I think that that's all he ate. [or drank!] He didn't go into complete depth of his story, but he does have a website where you can check out his story! He lost 100lbs in 60 days! Now, in my mind, that is not healthy! I am thinking about doing this. I will not trade it for meals, but maybe have a "juice" for a snack. A place I worked at made juices from fresh fruit/veggies. One thing I do know, Carrots & Beet Juice, completely delicious!! There are also recipes on the website of things he juiced. I do own a juicer..I own this juicer! I got it on sale for $70. Well worth the money!! I do not use it alot right now, but for people who are "all natural"  it is good for! Ive made Apple Juice/Orange Juice. It is yummy but you must remember, there is going to be the pulp in it! After all, it is natural! I think people have gotten away from eating natural foods. I was never brought up with natural foods and healthy foods. I always ate fast food [because of it's convenience] I was just reading a magazine last night and there was a picture of a celebrity [I dont remember who] that was picking their own lettuce!!! I thought that was the coolest thing! I've never seen such a thing!..But I do remember going Apple Picking when I was a younger kid ;) That was alot of fun! I will definitely be experimenting different juices and giving you all recipes! One thing I would recommend if you are going to make say Apple Juice or Orange Juice, I personally have found that putting them in the refrigerator helps. If they are just sitting on the counter, the juice is going to be warm. I also find it is easier to just make the serving your going to be drinking right then. It isn't to good to save. But it's all personal preference :)

One more thing for today, on a completely different note! I wanted to give you all a tip on something that helps me workout. THE TELEVISION! Such a great invention :) As soon as I get home I will pick a show that I want to watch while working out. I will go to the gym on my workout days when that show is on! Where I workout there is a TV on every machine! Such a great thing! There is also an Ipod plug-in where you can charge your ipod! [Too bad, I would always use that as an excuse! No Music, No Workout!] Yeahhhh Rigghhhtt! No More! So if you all like a certain show, and you can get to the gym when it is on, it might help you complete a workout! I know that if I'm into the show, i'm going to want to stay on the machine until my show is over! Whether it's 30min/60min it doesnt matter :) Just something I wanted to share!

Good Night <3
Hope you all had a great day!!

  1. Ahh that juice diet is so unhealthy!! (Along with all those other miracle/fad diets!) You obviously can't live on something like that, so when you do go back to eating foods, you WILL gain weight back (I did slimfast, and I lost 20 pounds in like 3 weeks and ended up gaining it all back, plus more!) The way I look @ losing weight now is that it's a lifestyle change! I try not to use the word "diet", because it's not a diet, diets only last a certain period of time!
But I do agree with you saying that doing the juice for snacks or something is a great idea! Especially if you're making your own! (thanks for suggesting that juicer, I've been in the market to buy one!)
Another thing you can look into is protein shakes. I drink these every once in a while (there are pre-made ones, but i make my own). I use these b/c i don't eat a ton of protein as it is, so this helps give me some more. Publix has their own generic brand so I just use a scoop of that (I have vanilla flavor), tbsp of coco powder tsp of sugar and 1/4 cup of milk add some ice cubes and blend it! Its delicious! And you can add the protein powder to any type/flavor of drink you want!

    Hope this helps any!

  2. in the grocery store (near where the orange juice is in Publix) they have these small bottles of real juice..pieces and all..called fruit 2 a day-- thats right each 6oz bottle has 2 servings of fruit in it and for a little over 100 cals..different flavors as well, very delicious and I would assume cheaper than a juicer that will probably land up sitting in the cupboard a few weeks from now....
